How to get to the Svratka Valley?

By car

When traveling from Prague, we recommend taking the 119th kilometer of the D1 motorway towards Žďár nad Sázavou, from there on to Nové Město na Moravě and Bystřice nad Perštejnem.

When passing Bystřice, watch the turn-off under the hill to the right, from where it is only 7 kilometers to Vír. The ideal access route from Brno leads through Kuřim, Čebín and Tišnov to Nedvědice, where after the railway crossing continue on the main road to the right to Štěpánov nad Svratkou and Vír. Another alternative is the road from Brno through Černá hora, Kunštát and Olešnice in Moravia.

By bus

The village of Vír is generally well connected to the train stops in Bystřice nad Pernštejnem and Nedvědice, from where a bus leaves to Vír several times a day.

Another alternative is to travel through Olešnice in Moravia, where you can get by bus from Brno.

By train

The journey by train to Vír ends at the stations Nedvědice (on the way from Brno), or Bystřice nad Pernštejnem, where there is a regular connection from Žďár nad Sázavou.

It is the same route, so if you are better connected by connections from Bystřice, you can continue from Brno via Nedvědice to Bystřice nad Pernštejnem and vice versa.
